Who are the Team Canada
Polar Bears?
The Polar Bears are all independent teams that travel on Azorcan Global Sports
Tours with Azorcan providing the tour package and the uniforms. Teams select
their players and set their predeparture program as they wish. The Team
Canada Polar Bears brand is well known in Canada as well as in Europe. The
Polar Bears name is known for supplying a quality sports and a cultural
experience of a lifetime for thousands of athletes and their families.
When are the tours and where do they go?
The teams travel to Europe in early August to participate in the
Czech
Hockey Challenge Cup in Prague. The tournament has a long history
and includes teams from throughout Europe and North America at various age
categories. In 2010 there are six boys categories for teams with players
born in 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995 and 1994. The female division is open
aged and usually girls 16 years of age and older participate.
The tours last two weeks and the tournament runs Tuesday to Saturday in Prague.
The remainder of the time the teams enjoy sightseeing tours, special events
and exhibition games in other countries like Germany, Austria, Italy,
Switzerland, Sweden and Finland.
How are players selected?
Players are selected by the individual team’s management. In most cases the
players are scouted and then invited to participate. In some cases players
come recommended from past participants or players can apply to join the
team. Azorcan does not control the selection of players as the teams are
independent. Azorcan only forwards names of interested players to the age
appropriate teams.
How can I apply and get more information?
Players can apply above or they can call Azorcan at 780.906.7110 and we will
forward your contact information to the team management. The team management
can supply you with a tour itinerary and tour information package and
register you for the tour should they accept your application and have
positions available. Players should be of AAA or AA quality and reside in
Western Canada. In the past we have taken players from all western provinces
and territories. Teams may consider players from beyond Western Canada.
Boys must be born in 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995 or 1994
Girls must be over 16 years of age

The Polar Bears use Azorcan Global for all their tours. Azorcan has been
conducting sports tours and more importantly hockey tours to Europe for 15
years and is 100% Canadian owned. They are local, tried, tested and true

A group of dancers twelve years of age
and older plus their families will tour Italy for two weeks. The dancers
will perform in various cities and will train with professional dance
instructors in Italy. Auditions are now underway for quality dancers
so please do not miss this opportunity.
The highlights of this tour include Romeo and Juliet’s city
of Verona, the world famous canal city of Venice, the Tuscan city of Florence,
the leaning tower’s home of Pisa, the scenic Amalfi Coast, the ruins of
Pompeii, the Tivoli Gardens, the imperial city of Rome and training
near the Adriatic city of Bari with professional instructors. The group
will perform at various locations during the tour. Great sightseeing, culture,
