The Polar Bears have been taking boys, girls and oldtimers hockey teams
to Europe since 1994 and have played in games or tournaments in Sweden, Finland,
Russia, Latvia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia
and the Czech Republic. Many athletes and their families have enjoyed these
tours as a great sporting and cultural opportunity of a lifetime.
Our teams have won tournaments in Europe many times over the years
and collected silver or bronze medals many other times. Our teams have
a reputation for being competitive and exhibiting good sportsmanship.
It is always on the minds of our athletes and coaches that they are representing
Canada throughout the tour.
Many players and coaches over the years have moved on to play junior
A in the AJHL, BCHL, SJHL and MJHL. Others have played in the WHL or received
scholarships to U.S. colleges.
A great number have also played college hockey in the ACAC and University
hockey in the CIS.
We are now seeing many past players returning as coaches to provide
the same great opportunity to players in their community.
Many families have been on our tours year after year as it provides
a great hockey experience combined with sightseeing and events that the
whole family can enjoy.
Our uniforms are unique and instantly recognizable. They are also a
great souvenir for athletes to cherish for many years.

The FC Polar Bears have played in games or tournaments in Brazil, Denmark,
Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, San Marino,
Spain and Portugal.
The Polar Bears were the first Canadian team to win the Dana Cup No.
1 in Denmark and have also medaled at the Gothia Cup in Sweden. Some teams
have participated in the Como Cup, Brazil Cup and the Czech Soccer Cup
amongst many tournament options we have.
Teams have visited famous stadiums and clubs including Bayern Munich,
Inter Milan, AC MIlan, Santos FC, Fluminese FC, S.L. Benfica, Sporting C.P.,
Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In addition to tours for teams we also provide tours for groups of
boys or girls who want to train with European professional or club coaches. Our groups have trained with youth and professional coaches
at some great facilities including at Coveciano, Italy's national team
training center, with legendary Italian Serie A coach, Renzo Ulivieri.
Other notable trainers we have worked with include former Brazilian national
team members Elzo (also formerly of S.L. Benfica), Edmar and Careca. In
addition we have have many current or former club and national team coaches
work with our athletes.
Groups have been treated to seeing a live professional match on many
occasions including World Cup qualifiers, top league games and champions
league games.
The tours provide a great soccer experience for the athlete while sightseeing
and special events allow all members of the family to enjoy the trip.

The Ringette Polar Bears have been going to Europe for over 10 years now
and have been instrumental in spreading the sport in Central Europe. The
team is credited with the start of the Czech Ringette Challenge Cup in Prague
and assisting with the start of a ringette program in Slovakia.
The Polar Bears have played in games or tournaments in Finland, Sweden
and the Czech Republic over the years and have won numerous medals and
awards during that time. Athletes, coaches and family members have also
enjoyed sightseeing in Germany, Austria, Estonia, Sweden, Finland and the
Czech Republic during the tours.
Teams have had participants from throughout Canada over the years and
on many occasions have had a team from Western Canada and a team from
Eastern Canada on the tours.
The tours have provided a great opportunity for athletes to compete
on an international stage, make friends from other countries, enjoy the
sightseeing and cultural events available on tour and to be great ambassadors
for ther sport.
No one in many cities and countries throughout Europe would have heard
about ringette or even seen the game live without the work of the Polar
Bears.
Due in large part to their work over the years spreading the game in
Central Europe, the Polar Bears were instrumental in the International
Ringette Federation awarding Prague as the host of the 2009 IRF World U19
Ringette Championships.
