About the IMPERIAL Tour

Azorcan invites you to join us on trip of a lifetime to Central Europe! The Imperial Europe tour will depart from Canada on March 26 for Nuremberg, Germany. We have flights held from Edmonton but we can look at other gateways or you can book your own air and meet us in Nuremberg.

 

We begin our journey in historic Nuremberg with a tour of the former Nazi Party rally grounds that

contain the most important remains of National Socialist architecture in Germany. The walking tour continues in the Old Town with information on the cities colourful past and cosmopolitan present.

 

The next day we visit Rothenburg ob der Tauber’s historic old town with its romantic alleys and picturesque corners. Let yourself be guided to the most important and beautiful historical buildings and get an insight into life in a medieval city. In the afternoon we move to Bamberg, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, vibrant traditions, and unique cuisine. After dinner we will enjoy a Bamberg Ghosts, Myths and Legends tour that brings to life the events of centuries past. 

Moving on to Munich we meet our local guide for short bus tour around the city to see the Olympiapark, the BMW headquarters and the Nymphenburg Palace Park we will go to the old town for a walking tour. In the evening we will enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner and a beer at the famous Hofbrauhaus.

Our next stop in Mozart’s birthplace, Salzburg. We will have a walking tour of the old city centre and our guide will point out places where the “Sound of Music” was filmed. We will enjoy dinner at a restaurant the those that are interested can visit the Red Bull Hangar-7 at the Salzburg Airport that houses a large collection of historic aircraft from the Flying Bulls as well as Red Bull motorcycles, racing cars and memorabilia.

Leaving Austria we will enter Czechia from the south and stop at picturesque Ceske Krumlov. It has centuries-old architecture, winding cobblestone streets, and a tranquil river create a scene straight out of a fairytale. We will take a stroll through the castle, past the bear moat, and a medieval tower to the caste gate leading to the old town’s medieval streets. We continue to Prague and tonight we will enjoy a Czech Folklore show with a 4-course dinner based on the original Czech grandmothers’ recipes.

On our first full day in Prague we will have a meet our local guide for a walking tour of the city. Starting at the Prague Castle we will see the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral, then we will walk down through the Lesser Town’s cobblestone streets, cross the medieval arched Charles Bridge, which was completed in the 15th century and arrive into the old town. We will follow the Karlova Street to the old town square, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe with the old city hall and tower adorned with the famous astronomical clock. This evening we will enjoy a Vltava River dinner cruise.

The next day you will have a free day to explore Prague on your own.

The third day in Prague we will go to the Staropramen Brewery’s historical complex of buildings in Prague's Smíchov neighborhood. The interactive tour will introduce you to the history of Staropramen from its foundation in 1869 to the present day. We end our stay in Prague with a step back in time to the era of the medieval ages and experience an unforgettable evening filled with fantastic entertainment, delicious food, and an authentic atmosphere.

We depart Prague make our way to the eastern border of Czechia. On the way we will stop at Moravsky Kras to explore the Punkvevní jeskyně (Punkva Caves) by foot and then board small boats to explore on the underground river. After the tour we will have lunch in a restaurant at Moravsky Kras before continuing to Bouzov Castle. Bouzov is a romantic castle built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. The castle is fully furnished and equipped with paintings, objects of art, history and custom made furniture. Unique are the two functional drawbridge and portcullis. In the evening we arrive in Ostrava for the evening.

We enter Poland this morning and arrive at the Auschwitz-Birkenau WWII Concentration Camp, the largest of the German Nazi concentration camps and extermination centers. Over 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives here. After the somber tour we will continue to Krakow, check in to the hotel, and in the afternoon go to Oskar Schindler’s factory. It is a poignant museum commemorating the Holocaust. An enamelware and munitions plant during World War II, today it showcases Schindler’s efforts to save 1,200 Jews and offers visitors a sobering yet enlightening experience.

The next day we have a sightseeing tour of Krakow, a city rich in history, culture, and charm, offering a perfect blend of medieval architecture, vibrant neighborhoods, and significant historical sites. The Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral, the seat of Polish royalty for over 500 years, is an impressive castle complex showcases stunning Renaissance architecture and breathtaking views over the city. We will see the Rynek Główny (Main Market Square), one of the largest medieval squares in Europe, featuring the iconic Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, and the historic Town Hall Tower.

Our final day in Krakow we will depart for the town of Wieleczka to visit the salt mines. The site consists of the Wieliczka and Bochnia salt mines and the Wieliczka Saltworks Castle. We conclude our tour back in Krakow with an unforgettable evening in splendid scenery, accompanied by traditional Polish music, traditional Polish dishes and drinks. During the show you will enjoy traditional songs and dances performed by a Cracovian folk ensemble.

This itinerary allows you to experience a mix of urban life, historical sites, natural beauty, and culinary delights across some of Central Europe’s most historic and infamous locations.

We will get All-Inclusive and Trip Cancellation insurance quotes for each passenger. Passengers 65 years or age and older will need to fill out the Medical Screening to receive a quote. You can review the Allianz Policy for coverage details.
